UPDATE: Dennis Smith Jr. is OUT tonight against the Kings.

The Sacramento Kings are back in action on the road tonight in Dallas against the Mavericks. The Kings are looking to get their first win of the season, after a controversial call at the end of the game on Wednesday against the Houston Rockets. The Kings were down 3 with about 26 seconds left when Eric Gordon appeared to have lost the ball out of bounds. The referees quickly went to instant replay to review what everybody thought was for gaining possession of the ball, but in actuality, what was being reviewed was who would shoot free throws after a phantom foul was called on George Hill.

The NBA came out the next day with their 2-minute report and admitted the call was incorrect, stating “Hill makes marginal contact with Gordon that does not affect his SQBR (speed, quickness, balance, rhythm) or his ability to control the ball.” BUT, these things happen often in the NBA and the good news is the Kings have a second chance tonight in Dallas!

Another Team, Another New Face:

Ladies and Gentlemen, meet the Dallas Mavericks. Legendary player Dirk Nowitzki is still the leader of the team, but the future leader is in town and his name is Dennis Smith Jr. Smith was drafted 8th overall by the Mavericks in the 2017 NBA Draft. So far, since he’s been a Maverick (through Summer League and the preseason), Dennis has shown up and showed out. In the first game against the Atlanta Hawks, DSJ had 16 points, 10 assists and 3 rebounds for his team. Fox vs. Smith Jr. is going to be the match-up of the night and trust me when I tell you, you don’t want to miss this one!
