Kings Biography:
About two weeks after the Kings fired former head coach Michael Malone, rumblings and speculation began about the possibility of legendary NBA head coach George Karl signing with the Kings as their new head coach. Karl had publicly expressed interest in becoming the new head coach for the Kings. On February 12, 2015, Karl and the Kings finally agreed to a deal for Karl to become the Kings' new head coach, replacing then-interim head coach, Tyron Corbin. The official introductory press conference for Karl took place on February 17, 2015. He took over head coaching duties after the all-star break. He took the team to a record of 11-19 in the rest of the 30 games in the 2014-15 season. During the 2015 offseason, a lot of drama between Karl and Cousins started that would plague nearly the whole upcoming 2015-16 season and eventually help lead to Karl’s dismissal from the Kings. The Kings officially fired George Karl on April 14, 2016, 1 day after the end of the season. Karl led the Kings to a disappointing 33-49 record.
