Eric Moreland earned his spot on the Kings team by playing for the Kings Summer League team as an undrafted rookie in 2014. Moreland was a defensive big for the 2014 Summer League team, averaging 8.8 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in 19.2 minutes in 6 games. Moreland wound up signing a 3 year non-guaranteed deal with the Kings in 2014 and split his 2014-15 season in Sacramento with the Kings and in Reno on assignment with the Kings' G-League affiliate, the Reno Bighorns. Moreland was ruled out for the rest of the 2014-15 season on January 1, 2015 due to a labral tear in the left shoulder. Moreland made his NBA return with the Kings' 2015 Summer League team. On July 29, 2015, Moreland was waived by the Kings. He was re-signed by the Kings in early September of 2015. Moreland left Reno after being signed by the Cavs.
