Kings fans should be excited about this one. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Kings have signed veteran SF Vince Carter to a one-year deal worth about $8 million.

This will be Carter's 7th NBA team as he enters his 20th season in the league. Vince joins Zach Randolph as former Grizzlies' to join the Sacramento Kings this offseason. This will also be a reunion for Carter and Coach Dave Joerger as Joerger was the head coach for Memphis for three seasons.

Despite his age, Carter still played effectively in 73 games for the Grizzlies last season, averaging 8 PPG in 24.6 MPG. Carter also played in all 6 of the Grizzlies playoff games, averaging 9.2 PPG in 32.5 MPG.

Carter provides a fantastic veteran presence in the locker room for the Kings who will have 4 rookies and 4 sophomores on the opening night roster. Carter will also provide depth at the position the Kings are weakest at as well as having a huge part in mentoring rookie SF Justin Jackson.

Despite obviously past his prime, Carter can have a huge impact on this very young team. The complete turnaround of this Kings roster continues and fans should be very happy with this signing.
