According to multiple reports, Kings guard Langston Galloway will decline his player option and become an unrestricted free agency starting next month.

Langston spent the second half of the season with the Kings after the DeMarcus Cousins trade that also brought Tyreke Evans and Buddy Hield from New Orleans. Langston provided quality minutes off the bench towards the end of the season. He averaged 6 points, 1.5 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 19 games with the Kings, including 2 games in which Langston started.

The move will free the Kings $5 million in cap space, bringing their total cap space available to around $50 million, which is expected to be the most any team will have in terms of salary cap space going into the start of free agency.

The move benefits both sides. For Langston, he has the freedom to join a team that will be more competitive next season and could fight for a title. As for the Kings, this provides an extra $5 million of cap space to work with during free agency.

With the draft slowly approaching and free agency starting July 1st, the Kings have a busy next few weeks that plans to have a completely different look from last season.
