The Sacramento Kings have been interested in Minnesota Timberwolves Point Guard Ricky Rubio off and on now. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, it was reported today that "The Sacramento Kings have had a strong interest in acquiring Rubio, but there’s no traction on a deal between those two teams, league sources said. So far, the Timberwolves are trying to exhaust the market elsewhere for a better return of assets than the Kings can offer." Woj also mentions that the Wolves want a guard in return so maybe the Kings look to move Darren Collison to back up Kris Dunn.
Personally, I don't think the Kings will acquire a player like Rubio, but you never know what can happen these days. I do think they will continue to discuss potential deals for other players moving forward as the deadline approaches.
On the season Ricky Rubio is averaging, 7.6 PPG, 4 RPG, 7.9 APG, on 37.3 FG%, 24.7 from beyond the arc, and shooting 87% from the free throw line.
