Sacramento Kings Point Guard Darren Collison has been suspended by the NBA for 8 games. This comes as a result to his current domestic violence case. Collison earlier on pleaded guilty to domestic battery charges and is now facing the consequence.
Many fans and people around the game of basketball expected a longer suspension than 8 games. A lot of people felt that the league should've given Darren a longer suspension. In an earlier statement by Darren Collison he mentioned that he wants to move on going forward and has owned up to his actions.
During the duration of this suspension, the Sacramento Kings are expected to start newly acquired Point Guard Ty Lawson. This may open up the opportunity for Lawson to show that he has what it takes to get back to his Denver days and that can still start. Although 8 games is a very small sample size he will be able to play possibly some big time minutes a night. We shall see how this all plays out as Kings preseason get's underway.
