DeMarcus Cousins dominates as Team USA rolls past China

This game wasn't even close between China and the USA. One of the only bright spots for China was when they took a 2-0 lead in the beginning moments of the game and it was all but downhill after. Despite Team USA missing their first five shots from the field, Although China's very own and former NBA player Yi Jianlin had 25 points and was the only China player to score in double figures.
Kevin Durant led Team USA with 25 points 6 assists, on 10 for 14 shooting. During a stretch in the third quarter Kyrie Irving caught fire and nailed 4 three pointers in a short span of time, DeMarcus Cousins chipped in 17 points of his own with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, on 6 of 8 shooting, and 5 for 5 from the field throw line. At one point during the game in the second and stretching into the third quarter the U.S. went on a big run. Every member of this year's Team USA roster scored a basket in this opening game which wasn't much of a surprise.
In this opening game for Team USA, DeMarcus Cousins straight dominated China's bigs. With the Chinese big men often fouling DeMarcus due to his over powering dominance on both ends of the floor. Cousins weight lose showed in tonight's game. He was moving great in the transition game and this was showcased while he got a nice lay up during fast break on a pass from one of his teammates. To showcase his passing ability as a big, DeMarcus dished a nice pass to one of his teammates for a wide open three. Overall, Cousins had a very impressive game for Team USA and this is only the start to a great Rio Olympics for the 6'11 big man. Also, his 17 points have set a Sacramento Kings record for points scored by a Kings player in a USA Men's Basketball game!
The Team USA will look to continue it's quest for Gold on Monday, August 8th as they face Venezuela who they defeated by a score of 80-45 in a pre olympic game in July.
