Thank goodness that's over with. The Sacramento Kings get absolutely throttled by the Toronto Raptors 88-47 (Yes, that's the real score) in a game where a DeMarcus Cousins halftime interview was the highlight of the game. The Kings actually tied the record low for points (47) scored in a Vegas Summer League game previously set by China back in 2007 (Via NBATV). Yikes.
Luckily for the Kings It’s only Summer League because that was one of the ugliest games I’ve ever watched. Sacramento managed more turnovers (17) than field goals (15), scored less than 10 points in two quarters, and their highest scorers had 7 points (Cauley-Stein, Richardson, Labissiere). Much like the NBA roster, the Summer League roster desperately was missing guard play, finishing with only 9 total assists. Isaiah Cousins (Right Groin Strain) and Georgios Papagiannis (Left Knee Stiffness) were inactive for tonight's game but, should in all likelihood will play on Sunday against the Houston Rockets.
There isn't much to say about this game, Kings fans. Good news is that we won't have to see many of these guys again and Skal had his fun moments in the 1st half. I gotta say Toronto is pretty lucky they didn’t have to face Papagiannis but, It’s alright we’ll give them the win. Check out the Sacramento Kings next Summer League at your own risk on Sunday against the Houston Rockets at 3:30 on NBATV.
