According to Shams Charania of TheVertical.com, the Kings have waived forwards Duje Dukan and Caron Butler.
Dukan, coming off his rookie season, appeared in one game with the Kings, the last game of the season in fact, as he spent the majority of the year with the Kings D-League team, the Reno Bighorns. In 27 games for the Bighorns (all starts) Dukan put up decent numbers. Averaging 14.6 PPG, 1.2 APG, and 4.3 RPG, all while averaging 28.9 minutes. The undrafted free agent from Wisconsin impressed in Summer League last year, which led to his signing by the Kings, but it just seems the Kings do not see any room for him on the roster this year.
Butler, AKA "Tuff Juice", signed a 2-year deal with the Kings almost a year ago, but saw very limited time during the season. The former all-star only averaged 3.7 points in 17 games for the Kings. It seems at times that he was more on the roster to mentor the younger guys, not for his playing ability. With additions to the team like Matt Barnes, and possibly more moves coming, it seems as if room on the roster for Butler was nonexistent. Butler had just exercised his player option with the Kings.
