The Sacramento Kings have placed Kosta Koufos on the Trading Block according to Aaron Bruski of Hoop-Ball.com.
This move by the Sacramento Kings doesn't come as much of a surprise due to the surplus of big men on the Kings current roster. After the Kings drafted two big men in Georgios Papagiannis out of Greece and Skal Labissiere out of Kentucky, it was expected that the Kings were going to make a move to try and free up the crowded front court.
The Kings have also been rumored to want to move Rudy Gay and Ben McLemore as well. This opens up now the possibility of packaging up Rudy, Ben, and Kosta in a deal to another team that could use these players to their benefit. Koufos currently has 3 years left on a 4 year, $33 million dollar deal that the Kings signed him to last offseason. Other teams could be interested in his services due to Koufos's relatively cheap contract.
It will be interesting to see what moves the Kings decide to make the rest of the offseason. Vlade Divac has said to expect a trade of some kind. We will just have to see what is ahead for this Sacramento Kings organization.
