The Sacramento Kings are one of five teams that have reached out to Matthew Dellavedova and have shown their interest in the restricted free agent Guard per Chris Hayes of Cleveland.com.
As the NBA Free Agency is just over a few hours underway, the Kings haven't wasted any time in their pursuit of a Guard. This first comes as a surprise that the Kings reached out to Matthew Dellavedova's camp despite teams not being able to meet with the restricted free agent guard because he is out of the country getting ready for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The 25 year old Australian, is coming off a year in which he had a career high in points with 7.5 PPG, 2.1 RPG, to go along with 4.4 APG in 76 games played during the regular season. Dellavedova can provide the Kings with a good vision on the offensive end, especially with the passes that he makes. He keeps many defenders on their toes and knock down three ball if he has to at a high efficiency rate. Although he struggles with his athleticism and agility especially on the defensive end, this can be easily fixed while still being young.
If any team around the league were to offer him a contract for his services, the Cavaliers would have 3 days to match the offer or else he will be allowed to walk.
It will be interesting to see where he lands if the Cavaliers do not match the contract if the Kings or any other teams decide to offer him a deal. He can land a solid back up job somewhere around the league.
